Meet the Blix Ambassadors!

December 05, 2019

We are so excited to introduce you all to the amazing Blix Ambassadors! From cities all across the U.S., Blix Ambassadors are Blix riders with different stories to share! To introduce you to some of the ambassador team, we asked them to answer a fun Q&A and share their favorite picture from their adventures so far. This blog will be continually updated to introduce you to each of the Blix Ambassadors. You can find Blix Ambassadors on the Blix Owners Group, Twitter, and Instagram. They are great connections if you have any questions, plus they might have a special offer for you!

Mary M.- Florida and Kentucky

Mary rides the Blix Aveny and loves having the ability to ride again after having surgery on her ankle. You can also read Mary's story here!

What is your favorite thing about your Blix? How has an electric bike impacted your lifestyle?
My favorite thing about my Blix Aveny is how much farther I can ride and how I never give hills a second thought! Before my ankle replacement, I simply could not enjoy getting out: if I had to walk. But I never had to give up "Blixing." Now, 14 weeks into my recovery, I am almost #Backonmyblix.
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would ride along the Great Wall of China! Can you imagine?
What is your favorite food to eat after riding?
 Cheese and crackers---- and wine!
What is the weirdest or funniest thing you have ever seen while riding?
I think it is what I hope to see! There is a wildlife preserve in St. Pete with a fabulous bike path through it. As you cross a creek, a sign reads "Manatee Area," but we have yet to see a Manatee. Still hoping... What I have seen, however, is a crazy number of "Devil Rays" as we rode over a bridge. Fantastic sight!
One fun fact about yourself!
In 2017, my husband and I went from 0 to 3 grandchildren in 27 days!

Michael C.- Georgia

Michael is a "War on Cars" enthusiasts and puts some serious miles on his Packa with his adorable kids! You can find him on Twitter and Youtube.

What is your favorite thing about your Blix? How has an electric bike impacted your lifestyle?
My favorite thing about the Packa is how useful and versatile it is. It's mainly used as a kid-hauler, but often take it on grocery runs. It's allowed us to use our vehicles less and less, and inspired us to sell one of them soon!
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I feel like it's probably a cliche answer, but it seems The Netherlands offer some great cycling!
What is your favorite food to eat after riding?
There's nothing better than finishing a ride with a cold beer! We have a few breweries available to us, just a short 3 mile ride down the bike path.
What is the weirdest or funniest thing you have ever seen while riding?
Honestly, it's probably watching peoples' reactions when they see a cargo bike for the first time. It's that fun combo of bewilderment and excitement at the same time.
One fun fact about yourself!
This won't be popular with the "BanCars" crowd, but I love Land Rovers. In particular, Defender 90 pickups. :)
Jean M.- California
Jean loves her cream Aveny and her ability to spend more time outdoors!
What is your favorite thing about your Blix? How has an electric bike impacted your lifestyle?
I like the ease of riding anywhere with the Blix bike.  I can go up hills easily and get outside a lot more by riding my bike.
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would go to Humboldt County, California and ride among the big redwoods. I would go to Panama and ride along to the Panama Canal.  I would also go to Cuba and ride along the Malecon Boulevard in Havana.
What is your favorite food to eat after riding?
I usually drink a sparkling water and eat a Corralitos sausage.
What is the weirdest or funniest thing you have ever seen while riding?
I have seen other bike riders who I pass by on hills looking bewildered and a bit jealous as I zip by them.
One fun fact about yourself!
I have been an e bike rider for over 17 years and I will be 70 years old next year.
Robin F.- Washington

Robin rides a Blix Aveny and is an inspiration in her fight to stay active while struggling with a chronic illness. You can find her story here

What is your favorite thing about your Blix? How has an electric bike impacted your lifestyle?
I love that it makes me feel like a kid again—when exercise was effortless because it was just so darn FUN! I struggle with a chronic illness that has gotten worse as I've gotten older. But my Blix has opened up the world to me again.
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Italy! We'd stop for pizza at the halfway mark.
What is your favorite food to eat after riding?
I skip the food and head straight for the bath. Nothing feels better than a nice long soak after a chilly autumn ride.
What is the weirdest or funniest thing you have ever seen while riding?
I love when I pass horses in their pasture and they start running alongside me. So much better than being chased by a dog!
One fun fact about yourself!
I met my husband on Instagram! And it was his cycling photos that first caught my eye.

Lynn S. - California

Lynn takes her Vika+ on some pretty cool rides! You can see her pictures on the Blix Owners Group.

What is your favorite thing about your Blix? How has an electric bike impacted your lifestyle?
Best thing I love about Blix is that the corporate office is in Santa Cruz, where I live. It has changed my life of riding bikes back to the miles I used to ride, one knee has been replaced and the other still has issues. The electric bike helps if my knees are feeling weak or tweaked with the peddle assist and especially the wonderful THROTTLE!
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would you go?
When I retire I would take my Vika+ traveling for sure,I would love to ride all over our beautiful country.
One fun fact about yourself!
I shattered my right wrist once in a bicycle accident and could not ride because I could not put any pressure on my right wrist...I borrowed a three wheeler,an adult trike. I could ride it because the handlebars were just the right height and no pressure on my wrist. I rode that trike everywhere had so many great adventures and I was just so happy I could ride. Now I'm having those same kind of adventures on my newer Vika+
