Summer is here, and bike season is in full swing. Check out where our Blix riders are exploring during these warm months.
Minnesota
When the snowy winters end, Kandace Baerschi loves to cruise around Coon Rapids, Minnesota with her Sol Eclipse. “We hit Bunker Park Regional Trail almost daily, putting in an average of 10 miles,” Kandace says. “I have a chronic health condition that sometimes leaves me fatigued and weak. Having an e-bike has opened up a whole new world for me! We have explored almost 700 miles of trails in Minnesota just this spring. It’s so good for my soul.”
Mississippi
Anna Anderson has had some fantastic adventures around Mississippi. “I’m a documentary filmmaker and photographer with Like a Girl Productions, and right now, we’re working on a documentary about people who live in homes on wheels full time like airstreams, and fifth wheels,” Anna says. “My boyfriend and I decided to get electric bikes to be able to explore the cities on a more “personal” level. At least it feels more personal compared to driving around and discovering new places in a car/truck.”
Alabama
Gulf State Park in Alabama is home to beautiful campgrounds and bike trails, and Maureen House and her husband soak in every moment. “Our little dogs go everywhere with us so the baskets on our Avney’s were perfect for them,” Maureen says. “They love riding as much as we do. Our bikes are our main mode of transportation while camping.”
Utah
Margaret Huppenthal lives in Pleasant View, Utah, a Wasatch Mountain bench community nestled beneath the Ben Lomond Peak, 45 minutes north of Salt Lake City. “I have always enjoyed bicycling, but the world was flat in Florida and the grades in Utah shortened my rides and left me calling for a lift,” Margaret says. “I love riding my Blix Genie Packa through town, to retrieve groceries, and intend to take it to the numerous State and National Parks this season.”
Maryland
Sue Roosma loves to ride her Sol along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Park in Maryland. “We have already cycled 1,000 miles in 2022,” Sue says. “Not too shabby for senior citizens! I love the Sol Eclipse Blix bike for its balance, the battery distance, step-through design, and ease of riding.”
New York
New York isn’t just home to a major city. Karen Strandell rides her Aveny Skyline on the Dutchess and Hudson Valley Rail Trail. “These trails are part of the 750-mile Empire State Trail. The best part of the trail is the Walkway Over the Hudson,” Karen says. “It’s about 1.5 miles long, and I believe, the longest walkway in the US. It was formerly rail tracks that connected Dutchess County to Ulster County.”
Oregon
Oregon has gotten a late start to their summer, but Amy Murphy has loved to ride her Aveny. “The background of this photo is the Columbia River between Hood River, Oregon, and Mosier, Oregon,” Amy says. “We have had almost nonstop rain since getting my Aveny, so I have not been able to adventure much as we would like.” Hopefully, the rain lightens up soon, Amy!
San Diego
San Diego is a beautiful place to have a Sol! Cindy Douma has had the opportunity to explore multiple bike paths along the ocean, San Diego River, Shelter and Harbor Island, and downtown San Diego. “My husband and I are both retired, so we ride 2-3 times weekly. It will be one year in July since I got my Blix Sol, and I’m only 60 miles from hitting 2000 miles,” Cindy says. “I’ve never ridden a bike as much as I ride now. We enjoy the freedom and exercise owning an e-bike has given us.”
Missouri
Small towns can be some of the best places to explore new trails. Candy Lindsey has enjoyed riding her bike along the MKT trail in Columbia, Missouri. “We now have 60 miles of bike paths. A great accomplishment for a town of about 120,000,” Candy says. “I got my Vika+ 2 years ago and have 2400 miles on it. At age 74 I am in love with my bike and biking is definitely my happy place.“
Nebraska
There’s lots of Sunshine to take advantage of in Nebraska during the summer, and Molly Conway takes advantage by riding with her kids and her pups around town. “I bought a Packa Genie (and Burley Tailwagon for our pup) to commute my kids to school and back and we’ve just started bringing it camping too.” Molly says.
