Are you really getting the most out of your electric bike?
The earliest e-bikes were simply regular bikes with motors attached, but modern e-bikes are far more advanced—they're packed with technology that goes beyond what most people expect.
Pedal assist is one of the most basic functions of an e-bike. Nearly all e-bikes on the market come with multiple levels of pedal assist. Blix bikes are equipped with four pedal assist modes: Eco, Tour, Turbo, and Auto. But do you know which mode is best for different situations?
What is Pedal Assist?
Before diving into how to use each of the four modes, let's quickly explain how pedal assist works.
Pedal assist means that as you pedal, the motor helps power the bike forward.
So how does the motor know how much help to give you?
That's where sensors come in. Most e-bikes today use one of two types of sensors: cadence sensors or torque sensors.
Cadence sensors measure how fast you're pedaling. The motor provides a fixed level of assistance based on your pedaling speed, regardless of how hard you're pressing the pedals.
Torque sensors, which all Blix models use, are more advanced. They adjust assistance based on how hard and how fast you pedal, giving a smoother and more intuitive ride. It feels like your legs just got much stronger.

The four pedal assist modes adjust the range of motor assistance provided, based on input from the torque sensor.
Eco Mode
Eco mode usually provides the least motor assistance. That doesn't mean no help at all — it reduces just a small portion of the load, like compensating for the weight of the motor and battery. Everything else depends on your legs.
Use this mode if:
You want to burn more calories or get some exercise.
You're running low on battery and still have some distance to go.
Turbo Mode
Turbo mode gives you the maximum level of assist. You may only need to put in a little effort, and the bike can take you far — it's like going from a beginner to a world-class cyclist in an instant. If you pedal hard, the motor delivers maximum power and quickly reaches your top speed. Of course, it also uses more battery.
Use this mode if:
You're climbing hills, feeling tired, or in a rush.
You're late for work and the battery is full.

Tour Mode
This is a balanced mode—it sits between Eco and Turbo. It gives you enough support to ride comfortably without draining the battery too fast.
Use this mode if:
You're commuting to work.
You're going for a weekend ride with family.
You just want a relaxing, balanced ride.
Auto Mode
Many e-bikes offer an "auto" mode, but Blix's version is smarter and smoother.
Blix bikes are equipped with a built-in AI chip that receives signals from the torque sensor, analyzes them, and adjusts power output in real time. This means: greater energy efficiency, longer range and smoother ride.
When you activate Auto Mode, you don't need to think about anything—your bike does the work for you. It learns your riding habits and adjusts assistance based on your strength, terrain, and speed—like an extension of your body.

Some people say riding a Blix e-bike makes their legs feel 20 years younger. Come ride a Blix and feel the freedom and energy of your 20s again!
