As the leaves change colors, the temperatures cool down, and pumpkin spice takes over, it is the perfect time to get outside on a Blix Bike. Ride leisurely through town to your local coffee shop, commute in the cooler temperatures to work, or take a Sunday morning ride to get some exercise! Here at Blix we made a list of our favorite Fall bike rides around the U.S. to share with you all! These rides range in scenery, location, and distance meaning there is a little something for everyone depending on what type of Blix ride will bring you the most enjoyment.
East Coast Rides
Farmington Canal Heritage Trail:
Riders praise this trail as having the “best fall colors” in the New England States! Cruise along the 84 mile trail from Connecticut to Massachusetts (don’t worry you can make the trail as short or long as you want). This is a perfect ride to take your Blix out with a family member, friend, or significant other and share a nice picnic that you carried in your front Blix basket!
We are definitely jealous of our Southern Blix family who get to enjoy a warm, beach-front Fall with their Blix Bikes! This trail is great for taking out your Blix Sol or step-through Prima and Aveny as you coast along the oceanfront of Miami! Stop for some amazing food, cocktails, or dip in the ocean.
New York is amazing in the fall with all the foliage changing before the snow hits. This trail provides a perfect view of fire hued trees along the banks of the Hudson and over the Hudson Bridge. If you are used to using your Blix Bike as a commuter in NYC, this trail gives your ebike another purpose: leisure and exercise!
MidWest Rides
Make your way "off the beaten trail" with this 78 mile trail ride from Cincinnati to Cleveland, OH. Watch as leaves fall along the path as you wind through farmland, parks, around lake Eerie, and other nature preserves. It is a great choice for an afternoon ride or maybe even a Sunday afternoon picnic date!
Cruise along this 18-mile bike path as you explore the wonders of Chicago, Illinois along the gorgeous lakefront! Take your Blix Bike out to explore the city, stopping at Soldier Field and Buckingham Fountain, gaze at gorgeous historic houses, and grab a drink from one of the many lakefront shops. It is the perfect ride for a day in the city!
West Coast Rides
Ride your Blix through some of Washington’s best kept secret landscape gems this fall! Traverse through farmland and along river banks on this gentle flat paved path all while gazing at the magnificent mountain range! It is perfect for a Sunday morning ride!
Portland, OR is a Blix personal favorite city in the fall because we love the colors and riding through fallen leaves! This trail is floating on the Willamette River (how cool?!) and has views of downtown Portland, street art, and the gorgeous riverbank.
Fall in sunny San Diego makes for some of the best Blix rides along the water! Pedal swiftly along the 24 mile long path and stop at different beaches along the way. Turn up the pedal assist and find it to be an easy ride into downtown San Diego, where you can have a date night and reward yourselves for your bike ride with some yummy Mexican food.
A Blix Bike personal favorite, this 3 mile trail winds along the coast of Santa Cruz, California. At one end you have the Wharf where you can park your Blix, grab some world famous clam chowder, say hi to the sea lions, and snap pictures of the gorgeous Monterey Bay Sanctuary. The other end is Natural Bridges State Park where you can watch jaw-dropping Fall sunsets, fly a kite, or have a picnic on the beach cuddled up on blankets. Fall rides are great on West Cliff because it is slightly less crowded and the whales are migrating through the bay! Another perk is you can come say Hi to the Blix Bike Team :)
