The first thing I did with this bicycle was to throw it in the backseat of my car and take it on vacation with me. The first 20 miles on this bike were amazing! Dirt roads and paths in the woods, at night too. So much fun! It has a lot of power, more than expected. It only has one small hangup that happens occasionally, in pedal assist mode 1 sometimes nothing happens. It’s the same as being in Mode zero. Even if I push it up to mode three or four, and then back down to one, it’s the same. The rest of the modes work normally. I’m wondering if I go faster than mode 1, does it not do anything I also entered into some sort of background information on the read out dashboard and I’m wondering what the default settings are, and how to find it

We live in Manhattan, NY. I researched for months before making this purchase. There is a 34 mile bike path around the city that we wanted to explore. We have enjoyed these bikes so much!!! It is a comfortable ride.

I got the Flex after not riding a bicycle for a long time. I did a lot of research prior to purchase. I knew I wanted a bike with a 500W motor, a range of pedal assist, it had to be hold a specific weight (I am not a small person), it had to be good for shorter folks. I needed it to fold and I needed to be able to lift it by myself. I did not want fat tires. I looked at the international brands - they have 250W motors to be acceptable in UK and Europe. I test drove several - I liked them even with the small motor but they were heavy and generally no throttle. I then figured well, if I am not going to get what I want in a folding bike, I might as well get everything I want in a non folding bike. They were even heavier than the folding bikes. I had researched Blix but I discounted them because they were a direct to consumer company. My neighbors got matching Blix Flex bikes several months prior and they were out riding every weekend. Loads of fun. Tossed the folded bikes in the back of the SUV and off they went. I revisited Blix. The bike arrived practically put together. It took a half an hour or so to get it up and running and all the tools were in the box. I've had the bike for several week and love it. The first adventure was around Santa Cruz, CA with friends. I love being able to go up any hill without feeling like my heart is going to pound out of my chest or gasping for air. I was able to keep up with my friends without any problems. I am one of those folks that pedal. AND I LOVE IT. I am generally on pedal assist #1, if there is a substantial hill I bump up to pedal assist #2. I've gone only about 30 miles but I have lost only 1 bar on the battery monitor. I think it is because I am mostly in pedal assist #1. This weekend I put on a bike trailer. I have never done anything like this on a traditional bike but I wanted to safely bring my dog on my adventures. SO MUCH FUN. I think because the bike tires are smaller the trailer is a bit closer to the ground that is typical. We stay on paved paths so I don't think it will be an issue. I was concerned about getting the trailer because I wasn't sure I could connect it. It was so easy. The mount placed on the rear tire hub does not interfere with the folding at all.

I pains me to say it, but when I saw the styling of this bike and the English Racing Green colour, I had to buy one: A truly emotional decision. Other bikes available have better specs in one respect or another, but none of those were sufficient to overcome the shot to the heart. The exhilaration and just plain fun of riding this bike never cease to amaze me. Seven gears and five different pedal assist levels make riding a sheer joy. And I am not given to emotional excess. The number of passers by that stop me to ask where I got it just reinforce my appreciation of its quality and style. I was concerned at comments about the tendency of tubes and tires to blow out, but Blix seems to have fixed that supply problem definitively. At least on my bike. (Touch wood.) Battery life does not appear to be a concern unless you are using it as a motorbike or pedal assist 5 all the time. I went 100 kilometres (60 miles) and my battery level only went down by half. Getting my bike was a bit of a travail because Blix does not ship to Canada. But, luckily we live close enough to the border that we could have it shipped to a nearby UPS store for pick up. Blix gets repeated kudos from me for taking the extra trouble to make sure that everything was right on the bike before shipping it to me. Blix also gets extra marks for sending out very quickly a bit of paint to touch up some minor blemishes that occurred in shipping. The only conceivable negative for us over 70s is the bike’s total weight, with front basket and pannier bags: Well north of 60 lb. I have no difficulty but it is beyond my wife’s comfort zone. Even though she likes the Vika+ much better than her 25 lb. Carbo. If Blix were ever able to get the bike down 30 or 35 lb., they would have an even bigger winner! Colour us happy.
