July 4th is approaching, and Blix is here to show you how you can celebrate! From organizing a bike parade to stuffing your belly full of food, we challenge you to include each of these activities throughout your day.
Parades are a classic celebration of the 4th of July. Watching the floats ride by, the kids catching candy, and waving to your community is a fantastic way to bring everyone together. If there are no big parades around town, organize your own bike parade in the neighborhood. Invite all adults and kiddos to ride together and hand out goodies to fellow neighbors. (Plus, if you have a Blix, you will make the perfect parade leader with some faster speeds)!
Our country is filled with historical landmarks, and what a better way to celebrate our country than taking the family to learn a little more about America, the beautiful. This is an excellent opportunity to include some education in your day if you have little ones. Here is a helpful tool to find a historic landmark near you.
If you’re hanging out at home this 4th, get crafty with a DIY project. Picking up sparklers at the store is easy, but making them at home with the family is a fun and collaborative experience. Check out how to make your own sparklers here.
If you’re heading to a cookout, make a homemade recipe instead of picking something up from the grocery store. Experiment with a new sauce for the chicken wings, put together a summer salad, or make a red, white, and blue-themed dessert. The options are endless. Check out some 4th of July recipe ideas.
As the day ends, one of the best parts of celebrating the 4th is watching fireworks with family and friends. Although, one of the most inconvenient parts of firework shows is the traffic getting in and out of the park. So, beat the traffic by riding your bike to the park on your Blix! You may even get there a little faster than those in a car, and you’re being more sustainable along the way.
